Well, we’re masters of something, I guess. After the longest year of my life, I am finally a Master’s graduate. Am I glad I did it? Sure. (ask me in 3 years, and I’ll sound more convincing). Would I do it all over again? Ehhhhh.... doubtful. A couple of weeks ago, we had a cookout with the up-and-coming M.A.T. class. While I wanted to yell out warnings and complain about some of the misery I faced this past year, I refrained. They’ll find out soon enough with or without my help. However I must say, as far as teaching goes, I had the best experiences over the past year. I was blessed to learn from 3 amazing mentor teachers (which is way more than some of my fellow MAT classmates can say)... and that, my friends, has made all the difference. I have learned a tremendous amount this year both professionally and personally. I’ve been stretched to the point of emotional breakdown and slipped dangerously close into insanity... but alas... I made it! I’m excited to see what my next steps will be. But before I make any steps at all, I’m going to enjoy my last summer of funemployment.
